Aaron Garrett
Business Dispute & Divorce Attorney
Aaron Garrett is one of Salt Lake’s most formidable business litigators, bringing 17 years of experience to every case he works on. A Utah native, Aaron earned his bachelor’s degree from USC before attending William & Mary Law School, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review — a distinction reserved for the sharpest legal minds in each class.
His diverse legal background includes commercial litigation, business transaction law, employment law, and construction defect matters, and he has represented both major corporations and individuals throughout his career. Aaron has argued multiple cases before the Utah Court of Appeals, including Ostler v. Dep’t of Pub. Safety, 2022 UT App 6, as well as several cases before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, and was part of the briefing team in Harman v. Kittinger (In re Estate of Davies), 2025 UT 36, before the Utah Supreme Court. He is also a member of the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States. Aaron has been voted by his peers as a Super Lawyer in the areas of Business Litigation and Nonprofit Organizations. Additionally, a large portion of his career has focused on nonprofit law, assisting charitable organizations with formation, tax exemption, legal compliance, contracts, and more.
Before joining Millar Legal, Aaron co-founded both a boutique law firm and a nonprofit legal services firm, helping individuals and organizations turn problems into opportunities. Colleagues describe him as having an uncanny ability to cut straight to the heart of a case and find the creative angle that wins it.
In his spare time, Aaron loves spending time with his wife and two teenage boys. When he’s not attending his children’s school and sporting events, Aaron enjoys running and spending time in the outdoors. Aaron is also an avid baseball card collector.
